Children need time and space to discover and develop themselves in the world around them. They learn through age-appropriate hands-on activities, which allow them to make cognitive connections. Creativity and individual expression are encouraged through a rich learning environment that promotes social interactions, enables children to communicate, be better understood, and to form relationships with their teachers and peers.
2 to 5 year old students, with 2 to 2.5 attending Tuesdays and Thursdays. See below for options for younger students.
Our co-op program is 9am to 12pm. After care options (no parent participation needed) are 12pm to either 1pm or 2:45pm. Students can attend from 2 to 5 days per week.
School is in session from approximately mid August to mid June. We align with the calendar of the Novato Unified School District. The summer program schedule is published each Spring.
Our experienced teachers are trained in the Reggio Emilia Approach to early childhood wellbeing and education. We follow the Positive Discipline model. Early childhood educators give talks at our monthly parent meetings on topics of Positive Discipline, as well as other relevant and age-appropriate topics.
Child-to-adult ratio is at minimum 5:1 with a max of 24 students (often less because of part time students).
